Heavy vehicle traffic, especially large military combat vehicles, causes soil compaction, which reduces their physical quality and increases susceptibility to erosion. A contingent of the Brazilian Army conducts training at Santa Maria Instruction Field (CISM), has been caused degradation ecosystem. The aim this study was evaluate effect Leopard 1A5BR traffic on properties in an Abruptic Alisol with history. Two types maneuvers were evaluated: (i) straight 0, 1 3 passes, (ii) pivoting maneuver 2 pivots. Soil morphology, particle size distribution organic carbon content analyzed 0.00-0.10 0.20-0.30 m layers. Bulk density, total porosity, macroporosity, microporosity, saturated hydraulic conductivity, penetration resistance preconsolidation pressure evaluated 0.00-0.04, 0.10-0.14 0.20-0.24 surface layer indicated that is susceptible compaction 1A5BR. Only one pass (straight traffic) sufficient increase bulk density reduce porosity macroporosity (0.00-0.04 m).
